A Magical New Year
Our family spent the passing of 2011 at our parish church. Together with other families, we said the 10 seconds countdown to 2012. At zero, we released our sky lanterns.
It was such a magical site - Lanterns floating in the sky amongst the background of fireworks.
Our family was complete that night. We all went to the new year’s eve mass. That was the first time my dad went to our church. That was the first time he saw what my sister and I do as choir members. He saw how good my sister plays the piano. He saw how strict I was as a conductor :p
But most importantly, he was there with us, for the very first time.
The lanterns floated away carrying our wishes for the new year. I guess my wish was granted even before the lantern got lit up.
